Kali is from Hindu mythology. She is the dark embodiment of the female energy being a form of Durga (meaning hard to overcome) and is always represented as a very powerful divinity, both creative and destructive. Her name is most likely dervied from being a feminine of Kala which means 'time'. She is one heck of a goddess and knocks the stuffing out of Siva for instance which takes some doing and subdues him for an age! By the way, Siva has a short 'a', not a long 'a' in it - everyone goes Sheeva and it isn't right - ask any Hindu ! Kali does have a long 'a' and a long 'i' though just to confuse you! The print image size is 370 mm x 500 mm approx due to wavy border on an overall size thick parchment paper of 660 mm x 510 mm. Supplied unmounted. SIGNED AND NUMBERED OVER 700 BY TODD LOCKWOOD ! If you liked Cerberus, this is a larger pencil sketch work in a similar style.

Six deadly arms!!! This was perhaps the first staff cover Todd Lockwood did for TSR although rumour has it there was one before this that he was so unhappy with that he left it behind in Wisconsin when hemoved to Seattle. There was a stricture against showing blood on the covers of our products at the time but the art order called for a god standing in a sea of blood! Reflecting the lightning on the surface was marginally helpful but it still looks a bit like a sea of blood and milk. Image print size 250 mm x 170 mm in a 40 mm mount to an overall size of 330 mm x 250 mm. SIGNED BY TODD LOCKWOOD ! |

The three-headed dog of hell brought to garish life by Todd Lockwood's prodigious talent. This limited edition of Todd Lockwood's original is incredibly powerful for a piece rendered entirely in black and white but his pencil work is easily on a par with his painting.
