About the only Tolkien painting by this legendary master of fantasy art that I can think of and staggeringly good it is too as he glides towards you on his little boat - bad luck if you're a fishie!!! The image size is 355 x 203 mm in a 60 mm bevel-cut mount to an overall size of 475 x 323 mm. At a quick glance one could have been forgiven for initally thinking this was an Alan Lee painting. The format and structure of it is very similar to his style although on closer inspection it is obviously the work of the other genius instead!

This beautiful Limited Edition by excellent professional artist David Wyatt is of a painting that was commissioned for the Harper Collins Modern Classics Edition and is a modern reworking of the 'Conversation With Smaug' that JRR Tolkien once painted himself all those years ago. A wonderfully deadly looking Smaug flies over the devastated landscape he has created. Image size is 228mm x 177 mm. The image was created for the Crown Tolkien Card game in 1995. There is a border with the title and each print is signed and numbered by the artist - only 2000 copies worldwide. Supplied mounted in 60mm of acid-free bevel cut mountboard to an overall size of 440 x 385 mm. All the Ed Beard prints are the same size and format so they make a great set.
