From the books of writer Michael Moorcock here is Elric is the Deamon Slayer as he raises his rather gruesome soul-sucking sword for the death blow. This one is 510 x 660 mm. Unmounted. You may recognise his work from the book covers of Anne McCaffreys Pern books as well as Moorcock since he was one of the main cover artists for her books.

Aw, cmon, youve seen this guys work before...surely? Well, maybe not. Like many brilliant fantasy and SF artists his work has not always been available in all parts of the world and although he is mega-famous in the USA it doesnt count for much elsewhere sometimes. He has a long track record of book covers and other illustration work over a timeframe he would probably prefer not to own up to! Now you can own a quality print of one of his incredible paintings. Hecates Cauldron is about A3 mage size and comes in a 60mm mount.

This is one of our great favourites. It kind of makes you not want to answer the door after dark, doesnt it? Of course, its the realism of Whelans art once again that makes it work so well. Image Size 320 x 210mm. Mounted in 60mm acid-free mountboard. Overall Size 440 x 330mm

Image Size 305 x 230mm. Mounted in 60mm acid-free mountboard. Overall Size 425 x 350mm. C'mon, it's E-Mail us time! Louise Foley is now a "Double Bright Spark" for providing the following info for this print - "Apparently 'Buffo' is usually a character in an opera, a clown type (maybe where we get buffoon from). Anyhow, the print is from a book cover called "In Viriconium" by M. John Harrison. This book was retitled "The Floating Gods" for American release. It was first published by Timescape in 1983. I haven't read the story but from the bibliography I would assume that the subject is either the artist who is a main main character or (more likely I think, judging from the explanation above and below) one of the two "Floating Gods". "Much of In Viriconium addresses the impossibilities of making art in a truly decadent society, in a world where no one cares. In Viriconium, the only possible art left is intrigue, which sucks up the artistic urge much as the plague sucks the life from the town's citizens. The protaganist begins to realize that the answer lies with the Floating Gods, the idiot Barley Brothers. What is their mystery, that they behave like morons and cover themselves in filth? And why do they so fascinate the City, much as we are fascinated by the idiocy pouring from our television sets?" .....so there you have it ! Read the book, buy the print, eat the lasagne, end up like Garfield ...
