These drawings are quite different from those that I do in my studio, since the surroundings have a strong influence on the artistic results, and the outcome of what I draw in airports, city squares, conventions or forests is so unusual that it often comes as a surprise even to myself. In those uncomfortable circumstances I can only work with a simple pen, a tool that is not as limited as it may seem. By the way, though some of these little tales may appear extravagant, they are in fact only real situations that when put into writing acquire a certain air of fiction. RARE BOOK! This 217mm x 330mm x 22mm hardback was published by Paper Tiger in 1990 with text provided by the well-known author Nigel Suckling. When Paper Tiger published this book in 1990 Ciruelo was only 26 years old. It is a collection of over 120 of his stunning fantasy works. Many of the illustrations in this volume were especially commissioned by a variety of clients, from book and magazine covers to advertising works. Long unavailable and hard to come by this is the first copy we've come across in years! The dustwrapper has a few crinkles to the edges but otherwise the whole book is in very good condition. There are a few favourites in here like the Earth Dragon but also many of his early pieces that don't get seen much nowadays. There is more erotic work with a whole chapter entitled 'Women' in true fantasy genre style plus a whole section on graphics. Great book for any fan or collector of his work plus any would-be artists out there looking for inspiration.
