The visions of Dante’s ‘Inferno’ provided Blake with fabulous apocalyptic images like this one of one of the circles of Hell according to Dante. Great motion in some of these paintings. In modern speak I guess he was saying, "Is that what you want coz that’s what’ll ‘appen!" One of the remarkable things about Blake is that his work was still brilliant even in his last years.
